Naturally South Walton
Did you know that there are FOUR state parks in South Walton, plus the 15,000-acre Point Washington State Forest? This is in addition to our 15 rare, coastal dune lakes and our beautiful Choctawhatchee Bay. How can you EVER find the time to experience everything??
Let’s start with the State Parks – which, by the way, are fantastic places to go to the beach! Escape the ever-growing crowds at the ever-diminishing public beach accesses and experience the most beautiful, low-density beaches you’ll ever see…it’s totally worth it, and TWO State Parks on Scenic 30A offer FREE ADMISSION FOR THE SUMMER!!! Topsail Hill Preserve State Park – west end of Scenic 30A – FREE SUMMER DAY USE ADMISSION

Topsail Hill is named for its dunes, which rise like a ship’s sails over soft sand beaches and the emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Offering 3 MILES of pristine beaches, Topsail Hill Preserve State Park is a birdwatching and hiking paradise. Tram service available to the beach, too!
Grayton Beach State Park – you guessed it…in Grayton Beach – FREE SUMMER DAY USE ADMISSION
https://www.floridastateparks.org/graytonbeach
Grayton Beach consistently ranks among the most beautiful and pristine beaches in the United States. Western Lake offers fishing and paddling…plus there are 4 MILES of trails among 2,000 total acres. This is THE beach on 30A – don’t miss it!!!
Oh…and by the way, we have three homes that have spectacular views of Grayton State Park (and the beach!)…Beauty at the Beach, Dune Watch, and SeaBatical!
Another beautiful place to visit lies along Tucker Bayou on the Choctawhatchee Bay…Eden Gardens State Park. Follow CR 395 north across Hwy 98 and you’ll see it down the road and to your left. Part of the historic Wesley Homestead, Eden has 163 acres of moss-draped live oaks and beautiful, ornamental gardens filled with camellias, roses, hiking trails…this is the most serene park you may ever visit! Picnic pavilions, restrooms, and the focal point – the 1897 mansion of the Wesley family, renovated in 1963 and the filming location of the 1972 B-movie…Frogs!! Admission to the park is $4 per vehicle; guided tours of the home are available Thursdays through Mondays, from 10AM until 3PM ($4 per adult, $2 per child under 12). If you’re ever here around Christmas, this is a NO-MISS for the beautiful Christmas decorations…and in the Spring for the blooming of the camellias!
